Als Anhang mal die komplette Help aus dem Router: Firmware: 2.11.0002 (2003.03.05) Gruss, Edeltraud Setup Wizard The Setup Wizard will lead you step by step to configure your router. Please change the settings based on your ISP's information. Password When you first power up the router, you will notice that the Password setting has been left blank. When the password field is blank, all users on your network can access the router simply by entering the unit's IP address into their web browser's location window. It is strongly recommended that you set a password for the router. When a password is set, users who try to access the router will be prompted to enter the device's password. Make a selection based on your needs: Enter New Password Make up a password for the device. Enter it here. Your password must be between 3 and 12 characters, and it cannot contain any spaces, dashes, or special characters, (example: * & @ # $ %). Re-enter to Confirm Re-enter the password for confirmation. If you make any changes, click Apply to save the data. Configure The Configure will lead you step by step to configure your router. Please change the settings based on your ISP's information. Most of ISPs doesn't provide IP address to the users. In such case, the router will obtain IP address automatically. Enter the data based on your ISP information. WAN | Dynamic IP Address The 'Host Name' is optional, but may be required by some ISPs. WAN | Fixed IP If your Internet Service Provider has assigned a fixed address, enter the assigned address and subnet mask for the router, then enter the gateway address of your ISP. WAN | PPPoE Enter the PPPoE user name and password assigned by your Service Provider. The 'Service Name' is normally optional, by may be required by some service providers. You can enable the 'Connect On Demand' option to automatically establish the connection as soon as you attempt to access the Internet. Enter a 'Maximum Idle Time' (in minutes) to define a maximum period of time for which the Internet connection is maintained during inactivity. If the connection is inactive for longer than the defined Maximum Idle Time, then it will be dropped. WAN | PPTP Enter the PPTP user name and password assigned by your Service Provider. The Host Name is normally optional, by may be required by some service providers. 'Service IP Address' is your Internet Service Provider PPTP server IP. And You should fill 'My IP Address' and 'My Subnet Mask' assigned by your Internet Service Provider. 'Connection ID' is optional, but may be required by some ISPs. Enable the ConnectOnDemand option to automatically establish the connection as soon as you attempt to access the Internet. Enter a Maximum Idle Time (in minutes) to define a maximum period of time for which the Internet connection is maintained during inactivity. If the connection is inactive for longer than the defined Maximum Idle Time, then it will be dropped. WAN Alias IP If your Internet Service Provider has assigned a fixed address and more than one IP address, You can enter the assigned address to the 'Alias IP' for WAN port IP addresses. These Alias IP's will be used on 'Virtual server' and 'DMZ host setting'. DNS Domain Name Servers are used to map an IP address to the equivalent domain name (e.g. www.yahoo.com). Your ISP should provide the IP address for one or more domain name servers. Time Zone For the user displaying the hacker attack log, you have to set the time of the router. Please choose your local time zone. –------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Status Status DHCP Table Routing Table DDNS Status Status This screen provides the current status of the device. All of the information provided is read-only. The following information is displayed on this screen. Router Name The name of this device. This entry is necessary for some ISPs. Firmware Version The version of the firmware installed. WAN IP Configuration PPPoE Connection or Static IP or Dynamic IP or PPTP LAN IP Address This field shows the current IP Address and Subnet Mask of this device, as seen by users on your internal home or office network. WAN IP Address This field shows the IP Address, Network Mask and Default Gateway of the router as seen by external users on the Internet. WAN Status Display Connected or Disconnected status when PPPoE or PPTP connection Default Gateway This field shows the Default Gateway IP Address. DNS (Domain Name Server) IP Address This field shows the IP Address of the DNS currently being used. DHCP Table You will see the related information (MAC Address, computer name, IP Address) of all network clients using the DHCP server. Routing Table You will see all of the valid static route entries in use. DDNS Status You will see connecting status of all the supported DDNS server. Connect O.K. Account Error No Account Retry to Connect Account Locked Illegal DDNS Client IP Tools System Log Hacker Log Incoming Access Log Outing Access Log Reset Upgrade Backup System Log This screen shows messages about DHCP client, PPPoE, PPP and PPTP. Hacker Log This screen shows any attempt that has been made to gain access to your network without permission. Incoming Access Log Incoming connection log records the remote (Internet) destinations that had network traffic come into LAN side. In this option, both Incoming IP address and the source ports are recorded. Outgoing Access Log Outgoing Log function records the activities that all the Internet (remote) destinations LAN users have accessed. The Source IP address, remote Destination IP address, and Service Port numbers are logged for tracing or trouble shooting purpose. Reset Restart will reboot the router and retain all of your configuration settings. Restore Factory Settings will remove all settings and place the router in its original factory state. Upgrade Upgrade firmware will allow you to upgrade the firmware on your router using a newly updated firmware image. Backup You can save the current configure file to your PC or restore the configure from PC. Advanced LAN IP Settings DHCP settings Firewall settings Privilege Virtual Server Routing WAN MAC Address Settings DDNS settings MAC Control URL Blocking UPnP Forwarding Special Applications LAN IP Setting This field shows the current IP Address and Subnet Mask of this device, as seen by users on your internal home or office network. DHCP Setting the router can be set up to be used as a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server on your network. A DHCP server hands out available IP addresses to each computer on your network automatically. If you choose to enable the DHCP server option, you must configure all of the PCs on your LAN to connect to a DHCP server. Talk to your network administrator or consult your operating system's documentation to learn how to do this. If the router's DHCP server function is disabled, you have to carefully configure the IP address, Mask, and DNS settings of every computer on your network. Be careful not to assign the same IP Address to different computers. Make any changes to the available fields as described below. Enable/Disable DHCP Server Check the Enable option to enable the DHCP server option of the router. If you already have a DHCP server on your network, set the router's DHCP option to Disable. Starting IP Address Enter a numerical value for the DHCP server to start with when issuing IP addresses. No. of DHCP users Enter the maximum number of computers that you want the DHCP server to assign IP addresses to. If you have made any changes, click Apply to save the data. Firewall Setting This feature let your router act as a "firewall". Web Management Port makes you be able to change default port number of the Web Management. Remote Management makes you be able to manage the router from Internet. NAT allows all of the computers on your network to use one IP addess. Hacker Attack Protect keeps your network away from hacker attacking. Block Hacker Scan is to hide the router to be found by the hackers, Remote Management makes you be able to manage the router from Internet. UPnP service enables UPnP service on the router. (Note: UPnP service requires Microsoft WindowsME, XP or later OS to be functional.) DMZ Host IP Addresss can allow one local user to be exposed to the Internet. As local user wish to use some special-purpose service such as internet game or Video-conferencing. If you had set many WAN Alias IP's, you can set Multiple DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) hosts for different IP. Privilege By using the Privilege screen, you can configure the router to block specific internal users from accessing the Internet. You can set up different filters for different users based on their IP addresses or their network Port number. Virtual Server Virtual Server port forwarding can be used to setup public services on your network. When users from the Internet make certain requests on your network, the router can forward those requests to specific computers that are equipped to handle the requests. For example, If you set the port number 80 (HTTP) to be forwarded to the IP Address 192.168.0.2, then all HTTP requests from outside users will be forwarded to 192.168.0.2. . In other words, depending on the requested service (TCP/UDP port number), the router redirects the external service request to the appropriate server. Application to Configure : You can define up to 10 application profiles Name : You should assign a name for the application, such as ICQ, NetMeeting, .. etc. WAN Address : If you had set many Alias IP's, you can select one of the public IPs as the Virtual Server. IP Address : The local server IP address will be mapped to WAN address. Service Port(1~65535) : The service port of the Virtual Server, eg. 80 for http server, 21 for ftp server ..., etc. Routing If there are multiple routers installed on your network, it is necessary to configure the unit's static routing functions. The static routing function determines the path that data follows over your network before and after it passes through your router. You can use static routing to allow different IP domain users to access the Internet through this device. This is an advanced feature. Please proceed with caution. This router is also capable of dynamic routing. In many cases, it is better to use dynamic routing because the function will allow the router to automatically adjust to physical changes in the network's layout. In order to use static routing, the router's DHCP settings must be disabled. To setup static routing, you should add routing entries in the router's table that tell the device where to send all incoming packets. All of your network routers should direct the default route entry to the router. Create a static route entry: Select a Static Route Entry from the drop down list. The device supports up to 20 static route entries. Enter the following data for the static route. Destination LAN IP Enter the network address of the remote LAN segment. For a standard Class C IP domain, the network address is the first 3 fields of the Destination LAN IP, while the last field should be 0. Network Mask Enter the Subnet Mask used on the destination LAN IP domain. For Class C IP domain, the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0. Gateway IP If the router is the main IP router to connect your network to the Internet, then your Gateway IP is the same IP Address as the router. If you have another router handling your network's Internet connection, enter the IP Address of your main Internet router here instead. Click the Apply button to save your changes. Repeat these steps for up to 10 entries. Delete a static route entry: Select a static route entry form drop-down list. Click the Delete this Entry button underneath the drop-down list. Click the Apply button to save your changes. The dynamic routing feature of the router can be used to allow the router to automatically adjust to physical changes in the network's layout. the router uses the dynamic RIP protocol. It determines the route that the network packets take based on the fewest number of hops between the source and the destination. The RIP protocol regularly broadcasts routing information to other routers on the network. Set Up Dynamic Routing: Choose the working mode. Gateway mode should be used if your router is hosting your network's connection to the Internet. Router mode should be selected if the router exists on a network with other routers, including a separate network gateway that handles the Internet connection. Choose the protocol you want the router to use to Transmit data on the network. Choose the protocol you want the router to use to Receive data from the network. Click the Apply button to save your changes. WAN MAC Clone If your ISP allows access by only one specific PC's Ethernet MAC address, please enter the MAC for the router Some ISP will lock the MAC Address, specially for CABLE Modem connection. DDNS Setting Dynamic DNS allows you to update your dynamic IP address with one or many dynamic DNS services. So anyone can access your FTP or Web service on your computer using DNS-like address which will never change instead of using IP address that change each time you reconnect. the router will automatically update the IP address to DDNS server each time reconnect. MAC Control You can block certain client PCs accessing the Internet based on MAC addresses. URL Blocking The function will provide filtering mechanism to prevent user access several specific websites. User could enter the URL address which website to be rejected. For example, www.test.com, ftp.test.com UPnP Forwarding UPnP Port Forwarding allows Internet Users to access Servers on your LAN. It also allows you to configure two-way communications, Game Servers, and other Internet applications with special requirements. Special Applications Most applications are supported transparently by the router. But sometimes it is not clear which PC should receive an incoming connection. In this case, you can define the application as a "Special Application" to enable the specific traffic to come into LAN side. Please note: Special Application should be triggered from LAN side to be functional, i.e. the communication should be initialized from LAN side, and the defined "Incoming Port Range" will be reserved for the Internet application.

Grüße und schönes WE Tobi
